LDH Liquid nitrogen generator drawing
Mixed-refrigerant Joule-Thomson (MRJT) refrigerator at low temperature ranges driven by
single compressor with precooling is applied to liquefy nitrogen (-180ºC) for Nitrogen Liquefier
from TIPC, CAS. MRJT, a Joule-Thomson cycle based on reoccupation and multicomponent
mixed-refrigerants through optimizing various refrigerants with different boiling points
with a good match along with their respective efficient refrigeration temperature ranges,
is an efficient refrigerator for the temperature range from -40 to -196ºC.
The feature of this product is as following: the available mature commercial compressors
and heat exchanges, high liquefaction efficiency, high reliability, no maintenance and long life.
LDH LN2 Generatior applications
Primarily used in universities and scientific research laboratories, our liquid nitrogen generators offer the key advantage of independent liquid nitrogen production. With on-site generation, there's no need to travel long distances to purchase liquid nitrogen in dewars, significantly enhancing operational convenience.
Output can be customized from 1 to 50 liters per hour, tailored to the user's specific requirements.
Designed for convenience, the compact units are easy to move and operate with low energy consumption.
During operation, the equipment enables one-button startup and shutdown, featuring a high degree of automation. Typically, users can master operation after simple training, requiring no extensive professional knowledge or skills.

LDH Liquid Nitrogen - Industrial Applications
In industrial production, liquid nitrogen produced through the fractional distillation of compressed liquid air serves as an effective cryogenic refrigerant. Due to its chemical inertness, it can directly contact biological tissues, instantly freezing them without damaging biological activity, making it ideal for cryogenic refrigeration purposes.
Key industrial uses include:
- Rapid freezing and transportation of food products, as well as manufacturing ice-based products.
- Cryogenic physics research, enabling low-temperature environment simulations.
- Science education demonstrations of low-temperature states: at room temperature, soft objects submerged in liquid nitrogen become brittle like glass.
- Providing the low-temperature conditions required for high-temperature superconductors to exhibit superconductivity.
- As a refrigerant for rapid biological tissue freezing, preserving tissues without cellular damage.
- Production of industrial nitrogenous fertilizers, serving as a key raw material in nitrogen-based compounds.
- Chemical analysis and detection processes, where low temperatures enhance analytical accuracy.
Liquid nitrogen is a cryogenic liquid at -196 ºC, derived from nitrogen-an element that constitutes over 70% of Earth's atmosphere. It is inert, colorless, non-toxic, volatile, and has an extremely wide range of applications. Due to its tendency to vaporize at low temperatures, liquid nitrogen is typically stored in specialized containers called liquid nitrogen dewars.
Classified by purity for different uses, it is commonly divided into food-grade and industrial-grade liquid nitrogen:
- Food-grade liquid nitrogen boasts high purity, meeting strict safety standards for human consumption. Its purity level reaches five 9s (99.999%).
- Industrial-grade liquid nitrogen, while less pure than its food-grade counterpart, remains suitable for a broad spectrum of industrial applications.
During liquid nitrogen usage, there is a common misconception about poor safety. However, due to its extremely low temperature, liquid nitrogen instantly vaporizes upon contact with air, which inherently enhances safety. While it remains crucial to exercise basic safety precautions, adopting a proactive safety mindset is essential in all operational scenarios.

Applications of Liquid Nitrogen
Liquid nitrogen's extremely low temperature and chemical inertness make it indispensable across diverse industries. Below are some common applications:
- Cryotherapy: Used to remove skin abnormalities (e.g., warts, moles) through controlled freezing.
- Dry Gas Source: Provides a source of extremely dry nitrogen gas for moisture-sensitive processes.
- Food Industry: Enables rapid freezing and transportation of food products to maintain freshness and quality.
- Superconductor Cooling: Cools superconducting materials, vacuum pumps, and other high-precision equipment to optimal operating temperatures.
- Biomedical Preservation:
- Cryopreserves biological samples such as blood, eggs, sperm, and animal genetic materials at subzero temperatures.
- Stores animal semen for artificial insemination and preserves genetic resources.
- Veterinary & Agricultural Use: Used for branding cattle and other livestock with minimal tissue damage.
- Cryosurgery: Removes dead or abnormal cells (e.g., in brain tissue) via localized freezing.
- Industrial Maintenance: Rapidly freezes water in pipes to facilitate repairs when valves are inaccessible.
- Oxidation Protection: Safely shields materials from oxygen exposure, preventing corrosion and degradation.
- Specialized Applications:
- Creates nitrogen fog for theatrical effects or culinary displays (e.g., liquid nitrogen ice cream).
- Enables flash-freezing of materials, making them brittle enough to shatter on impact with a hard surface.
